The only thing keeping the PS3 afloat is the reputation they built with the PS2. My PS3 gets less play time than my Xbox360 and my Wii because there aren't enough good games. It's nice having a Blu Ray movie player, but my older standard DVDs still look fantastic when I play them on my upconverting DVD player... so... let's have some games already.

From a hardware standpoint, yes, the PS3 is a good deal any way you slice it because of the built-in blu ray capabilities...
If you like playing games, and want to have plenty of them before mid 2008, it's impossible to argue that the Xbox360 or Nintendo Wii is they way to go.
There is still a price difference of over $100 between the Xbox360 arcade and 40gb PS3... That kinda makes it hard to compare the two. The ONLY thing they have in common is that they are the entry...
Bungie didn't take the rights to Halo with them when they left Microsoft.
If there will be a Halo 4, it's all Microsoft... Or they will be paying MS big time royalties to use the HALO name... And don't think that Microsoft will be letting a Halo title land on a competing console.

I know Bungie is rolling in dough, but game creation and marketing is EXPENSIVE if you want to push a game to AAA status and give it the kind of exposure Microsoft gained for the Halo franchise.
With the rights to everything Halo staying in the hands of Microsoft, Bungie has to rely on their own creativity to maintain its status as a premeire game maker.
I have a fear that Bungie may be a one trick pony...

Mario Galaxy + Guitar Hero III + Wii Sports= A reason to buy a Wii this Christmas.
Now... with that said... This is Mario, and if you're not in love with the last few Mario titles, this isn't for you.
It doesn't innovate much as far as Mario is concerned, but it's fun to play.

I think you'll find that the majority of multi-platform titles do look and play better on the Xbox360 than they do on the PS3. Not to mention superior online integration for the Xbox360 titles on Xbox Live.
Also, people would rather have a console that has 100+ games that are a 8/10 for graphics instead of a console that has 15 games that are a 9/10 in the graphics department.
I've seen Gears of War in person, and it looks better than any PS3 title still... While I do agree that these screenshots for GT5 are impressive, so were the screenshots for LAIR. And look at how that turned out.
I need to be playing games myself these days before I start making claims about them being a display of a console's power.

I've played many, many games over the years, and SOTC is still my favorite.
It just "Feel" different than every other game I've played with the exception of ICO.
There is an artistic direction, and sense of purpose that give these games a very unique, and deliberate feel to them

I remember being awe struck when I first played TUROK on the N64. The graphics were amazing, the guns were ridiculous, the controls were solid, and the enemies were a good challenge.
TUROK 2 raised the bar again with some of the largest loading-free levels I'd ever seen, and the gameplay was, again, fantastic...
The series kinda took a nose dive after that, but this next gen release looks promising.

These games are very much different game types.
Silent hill is paimarily puzzle based, and Resident Evil has a strong focus on the RPG elements as well as the combat.
Yeah, they both scare you, but they are certainly not head to head rivals.

Japan is the only major market where the Xbox360 needs a price cut. It's outselling the PS3 everywhere else, but in Japan, they are still very loyal to their homemade hardware.
